HUMAN ACTIVITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE

cultsha.com
"Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to million of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions or the distribution of events around that average."

Climate change is one of the biggest environmental issues of our time. We people should do something to prevent the irreversible damage to our planet.

Many factors are contributing to climate change both natural and human-made process (anthropogenic). Climate change occurred due to natural causes but there should be no doubt that it is mainly caused by human activity.  The human influences on climate change arise from changes in land use and combustion of fossil fuels.

Combustion of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases. Green house gases are gases in the atmosphere that absorb and emit infrared or heat radiation, thus trapping heat in the lower atmosphere. More greenhouse gases, more infrared radiation trapped and held, which increases the temperature of the Earth surface and the air in the lower atmosphere.

Also, deforestation and various agricultural and industrial practices are altering the composition of the atmosphere and contributing to climate change.

Human activities have increased in abundance of small particles in the atmosphere, thus, lead to warming and cooling of the climate system.
