Are we Good Stewards of Creation?

Save‑the‑planet300.gif
In the bible, human beings were believed to be the stewards of creations. They were created to take care of  all the creation because it was made for their own sake. But why is it the creation is now suffering? Are we doing our responsibility as stewards of creation?

It is human responsibility to take care of all the Earth. Yes, creations were made for the humans but humans doesn't own them. Everything in this world, including us, were owned by God. We are not owners, but rather, we are stewards. Stewards usually refer to human responsibility to take care of the Earth because this is where they live in. This is where they get their needs for them to live and survive.  Thus, it is proper for them to pay it back for the benefits they get from it.

But due to human failure to be responsible stewards of Earth, creations are now suffering. Human irresponsibility as stewards led to ecological crisis like pollution, flood, landslide, earthquake, tsunami and other natural calamities. Environment is now suffering from our indifference. Natural calamities are affecting the planet and its people.

In this modern world, peoples' way of living is a huge factor that contributes to the aggravation of environmental problems. Trees were cut for making furniture and also for building establishments. Garbage were thrown everywhere. Factories contributes to air and water pollution.

We act as if the environment was made for our use alone. We are the cause of all the calamities, thus, we are suffering from our indifference.

Now, ask yourself again... Are you good stewards of creations?
